Car park nightmare
I am in the mood to have a bit of a rant today because I currently feel like a prisoner in my own home. This is due to the recent upsurge of the ‘boy racer'in my area. Now I don’t wish to upset or offend anyone, I am not talking about car enthusiasts, who may have vinyl stickers on their cars and new alloys. No, I am talking about those people who go cruising in their cars trying to impress and outdo each other by having the biggest stereo or the fastest car.

I am talking about those people who spend their evenings parked up in the local car park with 20 other cars, boots open, music blasting. This has been on the rise in recent years, and in the car park directly outside my house there are weekly gatherings of up to 50 or 60 people sometimes, and it is supposed to be a quiet residential area. Sometimes it feels more like a rave area than a car park, and it becomes intimidating for local to go into the car park to get to their cars. The local police refuse to get involved as they say that no illegal activities are taking place.

So what are we supposed to do about it? We should not be made to feel uncomfortable in our own homes by a bunch of people who show no regard for others. I would also call into question the claim that they are doing nothing illegal, as on countless occasions I have seen them pulling ’doughnuts'and wheel spins on their way in and out of the carpark. It is dangerous for local children and pets, and really needs to be stopped.
Maybe its just the way of the world now, but it seems as if you are only out of harms way when you are safely locked up in your home now. The police seem uninterested in responding as it is more hassle than it’s worth for them so I will have to remain a prisoner in my own home!
